What’s the Story?

Literacy On Tour (Lit On Tour) began as an initiative of the International Festival of Authors (IFOA), a registered Canadian non-profit charitable organisation that presents an 11-day literary festival in Toronto each year.

Now in its tenth year, Lit On Tour partners with libraries, bookstores, universities and communities to present the best writers of contemporary literature across the province through the IFOA Ontario programme. Events include readings, interviews, lectures, round table discussions and public book signings, as well as a focus on bringing authors into the classroom for students of all ages through our Young Readers programme.

Lit On Tour is excited to showcase the IFOA artists of the written word all over Ontario.

2017 dates and locations will be announced in the spring!

HAVE YOU HEARD...

“[IFOA Ontario] is a really good opportunity for one on one conversations, during the signings, between reader and writer. One of the most moving comments any reader had made to me happened in Orillia and I will never forget it. A reader told me one sentence out of my book, and he said, ‘I travelled all the way here to meet the person who wrote that sentence.’ That made me cry.”
